Keuka Lake is truly an Angler's Paradise, well known for it's pristine water and abundance of fish, especially smallmouth bass, lake trout, rainbow trout, brown trout and landlocked salmon.
Of the four salmonids now present, "lakers" are the most prominent, with their population maintained completely by natural reproduction. Rainbows were introduced around the turn of the century and soon became self-sustaining. While smallmouth bass are the dominant species in Keuka, a northern pike or panfish including yellow perch, bluegills, pumpkinseed, rock bass and black crappie are likely to hit your bait.
